Staff were lovely and welcoming. We didn’t make any reservations as it was very last minute for us, but the team quickly served us.

Top rated in Kyoto for good reason! The staff are so kind and attentive, some staff have limited English so please be patient with them, they work so hard to make their customers happy. I had a lovely older woman help me choose and suggest some kimonos, sadly I couldn't afford the premium 2 star kimono I loved but I still felt beautiful with the Retro Modern option. MAKE SURE TO MAKE A RESERVATION! Walk-ins are accepted but the kimonos will be cheaper if you reserve a time slot. And it's best to do it as soon as they open or as early as you can so you can really utilise the experience for the whole day. You're required to come back by 5:30pm otherwise you'll be charged \2200 for overnight rental. Even if you make a reservation and don't choose any extras you can add them when you get there. They offer extra bag storage for \1000 if it can't fit in the blue bag they give you. I truly adored this experience and the ladies at VASARA are the reason why. Thank you so much! I hope to come back one day.

They were efficient in dressing us up in kimono. There are various pricing. They give you a basic kimono (which is limited in selection). You can upgrade up to 23,000 yen. Also extras are the waist brocade and warmer socks.

Super pretty kimono selection and the staff were extremely nice as well! I’m still amazed by fast they were with styling my hair. The end result was gorgeous and I felt like a princess the whole day!~ They have a great men’s kimono selection as well. We had the retro premium kimono couple package and the fabrics were nice and luxurious.
