We had a fantastic experience with Vasara Kimono Rental, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our time in Kanazawa. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, patient, and genuinely kind, which immediately put us at ease ? especially important as we were traveling with kids.
The selection of kimonos was excellent, with a wide range of styles, colors, and patterns for both adults and children. Rather than rushing us, the staff gave the kids plenty of time to browse and choose the kimonos they liked most, which made the experience feel special and fun rather than transactional. Hair styling was included and done beautifully, adding a polished, authentic touch without taking too long.
The location is absolutely ideal. Situated centrally between Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden, it’s perfect for sightseeing and photography. After getting dressed, we were able to explore the castle grounds, stroll through the gardens, and continue on to the Samurai and Geisha districts, all on foot. The scenery combined with the traditional attire made for unforgettable photos and memories.
We were accommodated as walk-ins, which was a pleasant surprise given how popular kimono rentals can be, and the process was smooth and well organised. The only requirement was returning by 5pm, which gave us plenty of time to explore without feeling rushed.
